Hi can anybody help I have a canon Rebel (550d) and its playing up big time ,working intermitent ,you can take some pictures switch it off switch it on minutes later and nothing works at all and maybe after taking the battery out ten times and switching it off and on many times it will just come back to life and minutes later dies again. Realized that my sd card door was not closed properly and tried to close it with no luck as the little plastic things were not straight anymore, used a lighter and a knife to put them back into position and ready to shoot again :)īut how do you do a low level format when nothing happens when you start up? Got to say had the same experience, thought the camera's battery was dead, charged it up and nothing as before i wasnt able to find cmos battery (which i was supposed to take out to reset the camera) but i think that low level format and letting camera stay their for 15-24 hours may have fixed it. Well i am not sure about it, what i can tell you that i have been following the closing battery door and mmc door before. really appreciate it.īut which one of those 5 items fixed your problem? So anyone who come looking around, here is the solution/ what i did.ġ-did low level format of the card that i generally use (just in case to be sure to revert if something went bad with mmc)ģ-kept the lens, battery, mmc out of camera for 13-15 hours or so.Ĥ.put the memory card back in and snapped the mmc door (make sure its closed, else cam wont fire (tried it) )ĥ-snap the battery in and close the battery compartment.Ĭonnected the lens.(make sure its closed, else cam wont fire (tried it) ) Well thanks brother for the reply, hats off. The actual shutter count is stored in memory in the camera and users cannot reset it. if we get a camera with 0 shutter count, so it is 100 new You can reset this on the camera for the numbering of the photos as used in their file names. ![]() Press 'Display' button to check whether display is set to offĪlso fully recharge the battery and put it inside properly. just wondering, can canon 600d shutter count be reset. Battery compartment cover is closed properlyģ. Predator_affi edited this topic 120 months ago.ġ. Originally posted at 6:33AM, 29 June 2013 PDT Not to mention the shutter count is no way near the death actuation, its about 5000 now. ![]() So anyone of you who knows the solution, kindly let me know. Removed card and lens, tried but same results.Īlso put up the card which i usually use with this, Same result. I changed the battery from a friend's canon 650d but that gave me the same results. But this morning when i try to start it up nothing, no display, no sound, no nothing. Last night i used the camera and forgot to turn it off (it went to sleep after 30s that's for sure ). I have got canon 550d which is out of warranty.
